Just for reference, in case anyone would like this information, Tif and I moved [info]lawyerbox to [community profile] boxolawyers. At the moment, we're still using both and may continue to do so for a while, but I think we're primarily going to stick with DW.

I'm also abandoning [info]idgie_icons, not that I'd been updating it much. I have a new comm, [community profile] solongtodevotion, which I'll pretty much throw all icons/profile codes/cr charts/etc into. I won't do an import, because I'm not particularly fond of my old stuff, lmfao... but maybe I'll include a couple of the last icon batches.

That is all. o3o

Okay! As some of you may know, I'm hoping to start a high school AU RP here on Dreamwidth. Now I haven't run my own game in several years, and the few I did were all single-fandom games comprised of small groups, so I'm not used to to coming up with something that will appeal to a wider group of people. A little input would be greatly appreciated, if you don't mind taking a look at some ideas I've been tossing around. Answer whatever you can, or feel free to just give me your feelings on my own thoughts. :D

All righty, let's see...

Should there be an overarching plot? I'm leaning towards slice of life high school drama with player- and mod-driven plots every so often, but no plot beyond that.

Should faculty be appable or mod-run? Leaning towards mod-run and mostly behind the scenes, unless needed for plot purposes.

How do you feel about OCs? I personally don't have any thoughts one way or the other.

Should there be curses/viruses? I'm leaning towards something like school spirit weeks every so often. For example, say it's American 50s week; that Monday, the characters would come to find the school decked out in 50s decor. Any students participating in spirit week would suddenly take on characteristics of the 50s archetype of their choice. Y/N?

Class schedules? I'd really love to put together schedules for all of the students. I love stuff like that, haha... I'd also make a school calendar, listing holidays, special events, exams, etc...

Summer vacation? I'd like to run the game in real time, meaning holidays in the real world would happen concurrently within the game. This includes long holidays, like summer break. Would spending nearly three months outside of school walls, doing what teenagers do during vacation and then some, be too tedious to play out? Or would it be a welcome respite from the monotony of school? :|a

Lastly, I am definitely going to need help with this, so if anybody is willing to volunteer (either by offering input or actually moderating), please let me know! My strengths lie in behind the scenes moderating, like organization, list-keeping, and answering questions; I'm terrible at judging applications. :/ And extra help with player relations is always appreciated.

Feel free to pass this around! The more responses I get, the more informed my decisions will be! :D And feel free to bring up any thoughts or ideas that weren't touched on above!

So, in November, I resolved to play more video games. Pretty dumb for a resolution, right? But I used to be a big gamer, and I suddenly stopped when life got in the way, barely having time for DS games like Elite Beat Agents and Trauma Center, and I missed it, man. So I resolved to play more, and my first game of choice was Digital Devil Saga.

Now I am hopelessly obsessed. 8(

No, seriously. I mentally strategize how to kill difficult bosses while I'm at work and get twitchy if I don't play for a few days. It's really pretty sad. I think I need an intervention. It's not the best game I've played in terms of story or even character (I do find the story and all of the characters extremely likable, though; don't get me wrong), but there's something about it that has me hooked. Maybe the sheer fucked up-ness of it all? The way the story progresses? I like how slowly in unfolds and how the characters know just as little as you do when the game starts, and you're only given little glimpses here and there. It makes me excited to see what happens next.

Anyhow. Needless to say, the next game I play will be Digital Devil Saga 2. From there, I'll probably move on to No More Heroes, aw yeah.

I wish I could go home and play now, sob.

This useless post has been brought to you by boredom at work.

Okay, so Liz challenged plurk (see what I did there?) to pick a fandom we're in and write a self-insert fic. For some strange reason, I've been wanting to do this for a long time, so I took the opportunity to pour my heart and soul into a terrible Mary Sue Fanfic of Doom.

This is chapter one.

(Note: This is all done in good fun and not meant to offend anyone. Let's face it: we were all varying degrees of bad when it came to writing during some point in our lives.)

THE 15TH NOAH )

I will probably not actually write a second chapter to this, but who knows? It was fun. |D

If you could keep your brain, would you consider being a cyborg?

Inquiring minds want to know.
